Applying Suffragist Campaign Methods to Today

The second half of the Game Changers project involved taking what the young people had learnt about the suffragist methods and applying them to today.

The groups established their own campaigns on issues they were passionate about. They learnt how to utilise local media and social media platforms to convey their message and explored how to engage their local representatives, corporations and celebrities in supporting their cause. Debating and public speaking skills were developed and improved. The also learnt how to convey campaign messages through the arts when taking part in workshops in music, poetry and T-shirt printing. This culminated in all 10 Game Changer groups coming together for their own modern version of the suffragist Bazaar that took place in Manchester in 1912.
